History
In 1992, Sammy Mayeux introduced North America to a new kind of polyurethane adhesive. Used by European craftsmen and woodworkers for decades, this new glue – which Mayeux called Excel Glue – dramatically decreased bonding time while providing unparalleled bonding strength.
Over the years, we’ve modified this innovative construction-grade glue to work with a wide variety of users and applications. Under the leadership of current owners Kyle Murphy and Scott Rhoades, our lineup of polyurethane adhesives was expanded and renamed Grizzly Glue to better reflect the product’s strength, grip, and tenacity – even under harsh conditions.
What hasn’t changed is our dedication to our customers. Kyle
Owner
Kyle Murphy, owner/partner, is passionate about delivering quality adhesives to people that are in need of an easy-to-use Polyurethane glue. He loves to answer product questions because helping customers select the right glue for their project is important – and talking shop about client projects is fun! Kyle was born and raised in the small town of Clinton, MI where he met Grizzly Glue business partner, Scott Rhoades. He currently lives in Addison, MI with his wife, Jennifer, and their two children. Kyle holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Eastern Michigan University. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and racing. Kyle and Scott hope to continue building a successful business based in family values so their children can proudly take over one day.
Scott
Owner
Scott Rhoades, owner/partner, believes in providing the highest level of adhesive products and support to Grizzly Glue customers. He fell in love with woodworking and adhesives while working his way through college at a local woodworking shop. His passion for a good adhesive led him to many business opportunities. In 2005 he purchased the woodworking shop and later Grizzly Glue (then called Excel Glue) with Kyle. Scott was born and raised in the small town of Clinton, MI where he met Grizzly Glue business partner, Kyle Murphy. He currently lives in Petersburg, MI with his wife, Whitney, and their two children. Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and his MBA from Eastern Michigan University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering at his church, golfing, hunting, UM football, and more golfing. Scott and Kyle hope to continue building a successful business based in family values so their children can proudly take over one day.
